- Surgery is performed while you are asleep in the operating room
- You will go home the same day after surgery
Initial consulation
During the initial consultation we will discuss your goals and expectations. You will have a chance to describe the size and shape your are looking for and your feelings about the procedure. We will address questions you have about breast reduction surgery.
How is Breast ReductionSurgery performed?
Breast Reduction Surgery is performed in the operating room at a fully accredited surgical center. While you are asleep under general anesthesia breast tissue is removed and the breast skin is tightened to leave a smaller, more aesthetic. The surgery lasts about 2.5 hours. You are then brought to the recovery room to be monitored until you are ready to go home.
Choice of incision
Deciding which incision to use is one of the most important task during consultation. Our discussion will reveal you goals and desires for your breast size and shape. The amount of breast tissue to be removed determines the incisions available.
After Surgery
You will need someone to bring you home from the surgery center. The pain medication prescribed will help keep you comfortable in the days after surgery. Antibiotics will help minimize the risks of infection. Dr. Pham will keep in close contact with you after surgery and see you back in the office to examine you to make sure you are healing well. Heavy lifting and straining should be avoided after surgery until you heal completely. A support bra will provide comfort and help maintain breast position.
