Initial consulation
During the initial consultation we will discuss your goals and expectations. You will have a chance to describe the areas of fat deposits that are bothering you and your feelings about the procedure. We will address questions you have about liposuction.
How is Liposuction performed?
Liposuction is performed in the operating room at a fully accredited surgical center. While you are asleep under general anesthesia the small metal tubes called canulas are inserted under the skin through small incisions and the fat is vacummed out. The surgery lasts about 1-3 hours. You are then brought to the recovery room to be monitored until you are ready to go home.
Choice of areas for liposuction
Deciding where to do liposuction is one of the most important task during consultation. Our discussion will reveal your goals and desires for your body. We will discuss the options and alternatives appropriate for you.
After Surgery
You will need someone to bring you home from the surgery center. The pain medication prescribed will help keep you comfortable in the days after surgery. Antibiotics will help minimize the risks of infection. Dr. Pham will keep in close contact with you after surgery and see you back in the office to examine you to make sure you are healing well. Heavy lifting and straining should be avoided after surgery until you heal completely. A compression garment will provide comfort and help promote rapid recovery.
