There are a couple of incisions to choose from for tummy tuck surgery. The choice of incisions depends on the amount of abdominal skin to be removed and the state of the abdominal muscles. We will discuss the options available.
Mini-abdominoplasty incision
- Resulting scar limited to centrally above the pubic area.
- Best for very little skin looseness and muscle weakening.
- Usually combined with liposuction
Full Abdominoplasty incision
- Scar longer depending on the amount of excess skin
- Can remove a lot of skin and stretch marks
- Best for very loose skin and abdominal muscles
