How is Tummy Tuck Surgery performed?

Tummy Tuck Surgery is performed in the operating room at a fully accredited surgical center. While you are asleep under general anesthesia stomach skin and stretch marks are removed and the stomach muscle is tightened to leave a smaller, flatter stomach. The surgery lasts about 3 hours. You are then brought to the recovery room to be monitored until you are ready to go home.

    Choice of incision

Deciding which incision to use is one of the most important task during consultation. Our discussion will reveal you goals and desires for your stomach and waistline. The amount of skin and fat to be removed determines the incisions available.

    After Surgery

You will need someone to bring you home from the surgery center. The pain medication prescribed will help keep you comfortable in the days after surgery. Antibiotics will help minimize the risks of infection. Dr. Pham will keep in close contact with you after surgery and see you back in the office to examine you to make sure you are healing well. Heavy lifting and straining should be avoided after surgery until you heal completely. A compression garment will provide comfort and help promote rapid recovery.
